Watched: Katzelmacher
If you want an interesting and well-thought out consideration of this film, you should go here. Personally, I was bored senseless after the first half hour. I think I need to take a break from the German stuff for a while. This film was great for Hanna Schygulla, who I think is beautiful in a really interesting, unconventional way. But stationary cameras, ennui, random and frequently misogynistically brutal statements... blech. The reviewer talks about the formalistic and tonal changes once the Greek arrives, but honestly I just fast forwarded through most of this. I dunno. I like a lot of Fassbinder movies, but this one did nothing for me.
