School Daze.

Possibly my favorite picture I took while in Georgia and definitely my favorite picture taken at school: the fire exit sign put up two weeks before the end of school. The school is one floor, one hallway. The only place to go, in the case of a fire, is in the other direction. Or out the window. Because every room is on the first floor.  And adjacent to the same hallway. Glorious.
Me and my fourth grade boys (L-R): Giorgi, Giorgi, Dato, Giorgi, and Giorgi.

Sit still- the cruelest thing to tell a kid to do.
Nino and Salome! Plus one of the Giorgi's in the background.
I have no idea what this is supposed to say.
Adorable second grader, Mari.
My host sister Kristina (right) and her friend, Nino.
Chaos!
My co-teacher's son, Irakli (right) and one of his classmates (Giorgi, I think? I always thought of him as Ben because he looks a lot like my older brother did as a little baby Ben).
My sixth-grade girls.
Maria (above) and Kristi (below).
Graduation ceremony shaping up nicely.

Odishi/Saiyishi.

Some Friends' Villages, One Very Hot Weekend: Odishi

Water buffalo roaming the fields.
The finest of watering holes.

 Sausage!
 Cooking, Part I. Yay, vegetables!

Sayishi

Cooking, Part II. Mitigating the broken egg disaster.
Sunset in Sayishi.
Mama and her kitties! Heart-melting.

Sighnaghi.

Beautiful Kakheti as seen from the town of Sighnaghi.
From the tiki-style restaurant hut thing where we ended up spending that night. The Mexican restaurant being closed turned into something of a blessing in disguise!

More Sighnaghi.

Rachel's host family's adorable little puppy. It wanted to snuggle with everyone's feet. I may have let it.

Batumi.

Boats: Tamara I and Tamara II, what what.
Street art, street rubble.
The Black Sea.
The Black Sea rocks.
Weird cloud/fog completely obscuring the top half of Batumi monuments/skyscrapers.
Just... I don't even know. I think it is (was?) a snack stand/playground of some sorts during tourist season, although the paint was chipping and that doorway smelled STRONGLY of urine.
Vines. Palm trees. Balconies. Statue guy.
Oh, Trump... No.
Batumi ferris wheel.

View from Batumi ferris wheel!

Churches.

Various churches and monasteries around Tbilisi:

Yes, on the left, that is a bundle of hooves hanging by string from a rusty hook in front of a meat shop. And yes, that is a plastic bag of entrails on the right. And yes, we were stopped in front of this shop because our marshrutka driver wanted to pick up a few things for dinner that night. The sign reads, "Meat. Cow. Pig's." Now I'm not sure about "Parshi" but Google Translate suggests both "shield" and "forcemeat", whatever that is, as possible English translations. So there you are.
Monastery. Forget the name, my bad.

GIANT Kavkasiuri Nagazi (I assume) shielding the monastery's Toyota/bee hive collection. Thing was scary.
Ertadsminda. (I think.)
The inside. Was promptly scolded by the priest and informed that one should not be taking pictures inside a church, thus the lack of any other inside pictures.
Doom brewing early in the day.
Mtskheta church, the biggest in Georgia.
Terrifyingly/awesome unsafe ancient stone bridge. And two views (out, down) from said bridge.
From the top.
Also, up.
