Bloody. Morbidly funny and vaguely claustrophobic. Vampirism done right, and although it saddens me I don't think it's possible to talk about the vampire phenomenon without mentioning
Twilight. Thirst puts the
Twilight series to shame. Besides maybe Edward chewing Bella's fetus out of her, none of Meyer's attempts at storytelling reach the level of both tragic, doomed romance or horror that
Thirst does. Of course, for Chan-wook Park, this isn't some accomplishment, it's just Tuesday. Think more Nosferatu, less sparkle.
