Watched: The Secret of Kells

My last few posts have been kind of lazy. Acknowledged. But I've been feeling kind of meh lately. The movies I was watching were kind of meh as well. Not so with The Secret of Kells. Exploring Irish mythology and replete with celtic visual motifs, there was basically no way I was going to dislike this movie. It's so incredibly detailed; I could fill an entire blog with stunning screenshots. Thankfully Netflix is streaming it in HD so you can get the full effect. As you can probably imagine, it's about the Book of Kells. I'm kind of hesitant to go further because people should just watch it for themselves, dammit. I was really disappointed that this didn't win the Academy when it was nominated. It deserved it.

Watched: For Your Consideration

It's not that it's bad, per se, just that it's not as funny as Best in Show or Waiting for Guffman.

Watched: Brothers

Utterly disappointing. Nowhere as good as the original, Brodre. Not the cinematography, not the acting, not the direction, none of it. Just... a pale shadow.
