I really loved this film the first time I saw it in the theater and although I enjoyed it on second viewing I do have to say that I think the strong performance of the young lead Quvenzhané Wallis, the beautiful cinematography, and the really fantastic score. I still think it's an interesting blend of looking at a small niche of American culture and magical realism. But I'm a sucker for magical realism.
