Okay I will say that I think they copped out a little bit on dealing with the very real and potentially powerful issue of mortality that they spent the first and second act establishing but I still think Chappie got a bad rap because people wanted it to be District 9. Curse of the successful debut film. I thought this was not terrible and did some interesting stuff with ideas of morality. Did it need the outright bad guy-ness Hugh Jackman delivers? Maybe not. But even he is given some dimension is his obvious horror and belief in the morality of his own actions. Plus Chappie is adorable, full stop. I don't know. I don't feel any need to watch this again but I enjoyed it.
