Just as harrowing and moving as it was when I first watched it as a teenager. Perhaps moreso now, having taken some film classes in college which drew my attention to just how far the score and cinematography and direction go into making these horrible neo-nazis the heroes of the narrator's story for the first half of the film. Perhaps this film is overwrought, perhaps it's melodramatic, but I find it just as striking and interestingly nuanced as when it first came out. And the idea of legacy, of passing on our hate and prejudice against the other to the next generation and then living with the consequences is as important today as it was when this movie came out.
Just a horrifying and beautifully shot scene.
