This feels like a very quaint, pat piece of storytelling. It's very straightforward. Boy from the wrong side of the tracks, with the wrong religion, gets a football scholarship to a very prestigious private New England boarding school full of WASPs. Things go well at first until they find out he's Jewish and then they go less well. There are conflicts, a little romance, more football than I necessarily needed to see, and finally resolution. It's fine. But just fine, nothing more.
It's nice to see a young Matt Damon and Ben Affleck though!
