Fun/sad deconstruction of the "manic pixie dream-girl". Much has been written about this film already and I don't have much to add except that I enjoyed it although I think Paul Dano's protagonist, Calvin, is pretty much a sociopath who is not exactly relatable. Still, the performances are really good in this and the main idea, that Dano creates his dream girl and that she then begins to come into her own, gives the movie more energy than a lot of romantic dramas/comedies have.
