I found this highly enjoyable and have rewatched it several times. But why no Black Widow movie?
Yeah, yep.
It was at this point while watching the movie in a theater in upstate New York with Joanna that she leaned across the cup holder and whisper-yelled, "Kiss!" There was a moment where I thought they might.
A fitting final epic battle that both resolved the conflicts from this film and set up conflicts for the next Avengers installment. I've heard people argue that the Marvel movies are lacking in consequences, that no one who dies stays dead and I agree with that. But I don't think that's really a filmmaking flaw so much as it is a flaw in the source material. Comics that are long-running cycle through so many plots that characters are constantly dying and being reincarnated or brought over from alternate universes or turning out to be evil dopplegangers or whatever. So I don't really hold it against the series. Especially since the tone and level of storytelling makes these films feel like they're a lot more intended for children than the DC movies, which are darker and feel more adult.
