I don't really know why I watched this. It was on a list of re-watchable films from 2015 and I remember the glory days of the 90's teen movies fondly (Can't Hardly Wait, 10 Things I Hate About You, Never Been Kissed, Cruel Intentions, Dazed and Confused, Varsity Blues, Fear, et al) so I decided to give it a whirl. It's not bad, it's got some funny moments and a great performance from Alison Janney as the kind of flighty but still caring mother of our heroine, the Duff (designated ugly fat friend), played by Mae Whiteman who I have loved since Arrested Development. Holy run-on sentence, Batman! This is a decent enough way to pass a lazy pajama afternoon. Not bad.
