Between River Phoenix, Sean Connery, the return of all our favorite characters plus the return to nazi-era Indiana adventures, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is for my favorite of the trilogy. Some people think it jumps the shark but I enjoy every part of its mythology-building flashback, introduction of Indy's father and his refusal to acknowledge said mythical status, plus the excellent villian of Elsa. Plus the return to nazi villians is also the return of biblical lore and easing up on the gore and dark tone of Temple of Doom. Good times and a movie that I have been and will continue to return to time and time again.
