Watched: The Iceman

Michael Shannon is just great, great great right? Always so good at doing this thing he does. I love that he does comedy and drama with equal intensity and commitment. If there's one thing I love about an actor it's commitment. The murders and actions of the titular character are certainly terrible but I think the most interesting aspect of this film is the evolving body language between Michael Shannon and Winona Ryder. Winona has been tragically underemployed in the last decade but it feels like, since Black Swan, and especially with Stranger Things, she's been finding a new place for herself in Hollywood. I wish she could be the star more often but if she has to be the supporting character, the wife, then at least she's great at it.

Love.

Mustache ponytail/60's David Schwimmer is hilarious.

Brief but fun appearance by James Franco!

Love but also fear and suspicion.

Chris Evans also has a bit part that's fun.

I feel like Ray Liotta could sleepwalk through this role.

Anger, distrust.

Resentment.
