I honestly watched this so long ago (I was deep in my Clint Eastwood crush phase, so somewhere in my senior year of college) that I don't exactly remember what happens, except that it's gritty and dark in the way that late 60's westerns often were. Okay so Wikipedia tells me that basically it's a revenge/redemption story, after Clint Eastwood's character, who is innocent, survives a lynching he is made marshal and tries to bring justice to the men who attacked him. Or something. Honestly it sounds like a less awesome/insane version of High Plains Drifter. Made, I must have really been in deep for Clint. Ah well.
