It makes me sad that I have to write the parenthetical year this was made, now that it's been remade. Was that really necessary? It seems unnecessary. Anyway, I feel like within the famous Verhoeven films there lies a Goldilocks and the Three Bears analogy. Showgirls/Basic Instinct take themselves too seriously. Starship Troopers is just a little too goofy. But RoboCop? RoboCop is just right. (Let us not speak of Hollow Man.)
